What Was Accomplished At The Cross?

Accomplishments related to the fundamentals of the Christian faith:
• God showed His love for us (Romans 5:8)
• We were saved from God’s wrath (Romans 5:9)
• Christ became the source of salvation (Hebrews 5:8,9)
• The sins of many were borne (Hebrews 9:27,28)
• Only one sacrifice became necessary (Hebrews 7:26,27)
• We obtained remission - set free of the charges against us (Hebrews 9:21,22)
• We were justified (Romans 3:24)
• God made us righteous (Romans 5:19)
• We were forgiven (Ephesians 1:7)
• We were redeemed (Romans 3:23-25)
• We were reconciled to God (Romans 5:10)
• We were sanctified (Hebrews 10:10)
• We were given a future hope - resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:12-14)
Other accomplishments:
• Christ fulfilled many types in the O.T. (Hebrews 10:19-22)
• The New Covenant was ratified (Matthew 26:26-29)
• Heavenly things were purified by the sprinkling of Christ’s blood (Hebrews 9:21-23)
• Our consciences are purged from dead works to serving the living God (Hebrews 9:13,14)
• Christ provided an example of humility (Philippians 2:5,8)
• Christ learned obedience (Hebrews 5:8)
• Christ made an open show of the Principalities and Powers (Colossians 2:15)
• Christ spoiled / threw off / disarmed the Principalities and Powers (Colossians 2:15)
• Power of the devil nullified (Hebrews 2:14,15)
• Power of death abolished (Hebrews 2:14,15)
• All things covered in God’s redemptive purposes were reconciled to Him (Colossians 1:20)
• Christ has now been highly exalted (Philippians 2:9)

• The middle wall of partition was broken down (Ephesians 2:14)
• The body of Christ, free of national differences, was brought about (Ephesians 2:11-16)
